Step 3 - Transportation
Now that you've landed a job and found a place to live, you've got to secure a way to get from one place to another! Step 3 of this project is to decide on the best transportation option for your budget. Will you be able to afford a car? Will you need to take a bus? Or will you purchase a bicycle and get your exercise riding to and from work?
The distance between your home and work plays a big factor in the type of transportation you decide upon. Use the Transportation worksheet to calculate the number of miles you must travel each day. You have three choices for your commute - bicycle, public transportation, or automobile. |
|
Your transportation options are outlined below based upon the number of round-trip miles you will have to travel per day:
Less Than 5 Miles
|
Between 5 & 10 Miles
|
More Than 10 Miles

Purchasing A Bicycle
If you live within 5 miles (round-trip) of your work, you may buy a bicycle for your commuting. You may shop for a bike at any online store, but it must be a road or hybrid bicycle. Be sure to note the price of the bicycle, the store, the URL, the shipping total, and save a picture of the bike for your presentation.

Transportation
Most people also have ideas of what type of car they would like to own. If you cannot afford to purchase a car, you may choose to purchase a bike or take public transportation. You must choose the appropriate Transportation Worksheet to complete for this part. Make sure to note the price of the car and the URL that you used.
